Crossing Beyond The Past--Review of The Kite Runner
Decades ago, the same day.
The same breeze, the same gray.
I flew the kite,
And you ran and caught falling one in the way you
liked.
Now, I'm standing alone,
Looking at people greet, hug and kiss in the crowded
afternoon.
A few kites have come into my view.
Then my heart suddenly fills with sorrow.
I pretended that everything is the way I want it to
be.
I pretended to forget about how criminal and
sorrowful I should be.
I can't pretend this way any more.
I told myself it's time to pay for what I've done
before.
